Unit 6: Atmospheric Phenomena

Task 1:  Title Page 

Make a Title Page in your notebook for our next unit called "Atmospheric Phenomena".  Your title page must include the words "Atmospheric Phenomena" and it should include a colored drawing of the Earth and the layers of the Atmosphere. 

Task 2:  Earth's Atmosphere Notes

Grab a copy of the note sheet or print out your own copy from the Google Classroom link below.  Use the slides and the readings from the CK-12 Flexbook linked in the Google Classroom post to complete your notes.  

Task 3:  Graphing Earth's Atmosphere

Grab a copy of the graph paper from Mr. Tanner or click the link below to download a .pdf file of the Graph paper.  If you have to use the .pdf file you will use Kami to complete your graph.  Once you have the graph paper click the link below for the data that you need to graph.  Once you have graphed the data add the information from the note sheet to the correct layer on your document.  

Task 4: Layers of the Atmosphere Lock Code

Click the link below for your class period to access the assignment in Google Classroom.  You will need to open your copy of the Google Slides to complete the assignment.  The questions you need to answer are on Page 2 of the slide show.  You will then read the instructions on page three to figure out the "Code" to the lock.  (Note, there is not a real lock you need to open on the slides) 

Task 5: Water Cycle GimKit

Click the link below to access the GimKit.  You must complete the assignment by Friday April 26th.  

Task 6: Vocabulary

Click the link below to access the vocabulary set in Quizlet. You will need to know all of the vocabulary by the end of the Unit.  

Task 7: Nova: At the Edge of Space

Click the link below for your class period to access the EdPuzzle Video.  You will need to watch the video and answer all of the questions as they pop up.  If you do not get a score you are happy with you can redo the assignment. 

Task 8: Intro to Weather Kami

Click the link below for your class period to access the assignment in Google Classroom.  You will need to read the information on each page of the .pdf file in order to answer the questions below.  Answer the information on all four pages before turning in your work.

Task 12: Green House Gas Gizmos

Click the link below to access the assignment for your class period.  Use the Greenhouse Gas effect gizmo to answer all of the questions on the Google Doc attached in Google Classroom.  

Task 13: US Energy Use 2022

Click the link below to access the assignment for your class period.  Information in the Pie Chart to answer the questions in the attached Google Doc. 

Task 14: Carbon Cycle Cause and Effect

Click the link below to access the assignment for your class period.  Use what you have learned about the Carbon Cycle to answer the questions in the attached Google Doc.

Task 16: Amazon Rain forest Project

Click the link below for your class period to access the Amazon rain forest research project.  You and your group will have to make a presentation "with the audience of president Lula da Silva".  You will get the option of arguing that the rainforest should, or should not, be preserved.  The instructions on how to format your argument are found in the instructions on Google Classroom. 

Task 17: Biome Research Project

Click the link below for your class period to access the Biome research project.  Carefully follow all the instructions on the Google Doc to complete your research.  You will build a presentation on Google Slides when you are done with the research guide. 

Task 18: EdPuzzle: Planet Earth Mountains

Click the link below for your class period to watch the video about Mountain Biomes in EdPuzzle.  Make sure you answer all of the questions as you are watching the video. 

Task 19: Study Guide for Final Exam.  

Click the link below for your class period to access the study guide in google classroom.  If you don't have the ability to print out the document you can use Kami to edit the pdf.
